My work is mainly about buildings that are there one minute and gone the next. Living in Rochdale, a once-rich cotton town, I see plenty of wonderful buildings abandoned, falling into dereliction, vandalised and eventually being demolished.

Once these buildings, houses, halls, churches mills and pubs (to name but a few) are gone, then they are gone forever. My work aims to capture these - in whatever state they may be in - before they are lost.

I love the look of these places, once proudly standing as a tribute to the wealth and success of the region, full of memories and part of history. I also like the way my paintings stir up memories in the people viewing them - 'I used to play there as a kid' or 'I used to drink in that pub'.

As well as places in Rochdale, I have also painted buildings on Chapel Street, Salford, a derelict fairground in Ryhl and places in Skye.

Commissions are undertaken, the building doesn’t have to be derelict! Prices depend on size, complexity of image etc.

If you know of anywhere near you that looks in a derelict state, please let me know, I would be happy to hear of any suggestions for future works!
