09.09.08 - Not really a piece of news about me this one. It's to let you lot know that the new Jennifer Driver site is up. It's gonna feature her artwork and some other stuff.

01.07.08 - I've been messing about creating some ASCII art. I wrote a script to convert images to 'greyscale' text. Check it here. There's the source code up there too.

19.02.08 - Oddly, this isn't a proper new entry. All it is a link to some other sites to ensure that they'll get picked up by the search engines that come-a-visiting. First up is the address for the Gierrofo site - www.gierrofo.co.uk - yep, I bought the domain. Next up is the youtube channel - www.youtube.com/mdfilem - which is full of films of my friends embarrasing themselves.

That's it really. Still no news. Except the the Gierrofo EP is still up for download at the site. And that theres plan afoot to take Russet & Brown out on the road sometime before the summer. Keep 'em peeled and see what info pops up here and there. And possible there too. Oh, and there'll be new sites going up for Russet & Brown and Anexium - just got to design them first...

14.10.07 - Yo, yo, yo, check it out! In a manner not quite wothy of that kind of introduction, I've uploaded a couple of new 'old/classic' tunes. Click here to see the full list. I've also found a better recording of 'Hallel', so I've replaced the old one with the new one. Which is 30 seconds shorter for some unknown reason...

12.09.07 - Roll up! Roll up! Have I got a treat in store for your ladies and gentlemen. I bring to you not one, but two new Anexium tracks! Yes, your ears aren't lying to you, two brand new tracks! Ok, so they're not 100% new. They're a couple of things I've had knocking around since late last year in various states of unfinished-ness. Now, they're finished. The first is Lapaen. This is the nice gentle one. The other - Voices - is something a little bit darker. Go download them now and have a listen for yourself.

02.09.07 - Still no Anexium news to speak of, but I have got some other news. Lately I've been out taking photographs of bands that I've been to see. You can click on this - http://www.anexium.com/photos - and take a looksee. You'll probably see yourself on one or two of them.

Oh, and the spammers have been at it again, using the anexium.com domain as the sender for their spam. If you've got one of these and you've come here to see what it's about, it's not me sending you penis enlargement emails - they've spoofed my domain as the sender. It's nothing to do with me.

16.07.07 - A couple of things for this bit of 'news'. Firstly, I've uploaded another classic/old track. Check it here (4.0mb). Next up is a track I wrote for Ed from Black Fiction's 30th birthday. It's here (3.6mb). And lastly, I've re-encodeded Flannel. It's now smaller, and more importanly, it's complete (the old one cut off somewhat abruptly about 30 seconds before the end).

09.05.07 - The recording of the gig is now available for you lot to download - click on http://www.hippocamp.net/index2.asp?releases/hc177.htm, and get it downloaded. Also on this release are - millicent (november 06), kid mingus (march 07), noodlearm (march 07), mage-eye (scrubber fox & paperball, april 07) and quixotic (april 07). Woo!

24.04.07 - Ok, the gig is done. It was well super mexico. I was dead good (as expected) and quixotic (who's name i'm sure i've just mis-spelled) and mage-eye (scrubber fox vs paperball) were totally inverness too. 'Shouts' to the visual bods too, their stuff was brill. More live stuff when I get around to it...

12.04.07 - I'm doing a gig! Next Wednesday (18th), I'm playing HippocampGreen again. This time though it's a new set. Yeah, a new set. The full details are down the bottom. Of the page.

05.04.07 - Inspired by a thread on the Planet-Mu forum, I've uploaded a couple of my old old old tracks. They're only linked to from here - Forgotten 1, Forgotten 2, Forgotten 3 and Hallel. Forgot 1 & 2 are from around '96, are more electronica-ish and were written just using my Roland D110, 3 is a jump-up style and Hallel is a (slightly too long) electro thing. 3 and Hallel were written about '97 when I'd got a mixer and could have the Amiga throwing samples along with the D110.

19.02.07 - For reasons I've forgot, I forgot to put up a couple of photos from the gig. You can look at them here.

05.02.07 - Right then, that's the gig done. Cheers to the Hippocamp lot for organising it and putting it on. Cheers also to Kid Mingus and Millicent for their top sets. Cheers to all the people who turned up. Cheers to those people who said I was good. And cheers to everyone who was impressed by the Amiga - Octamed combo. There's going to be a recording of the night available from hippocamp sometime shortly. That's all the news for the time being. I'll put more up when I remember it.

18.01.07 - First post of the new year and this one's important. I'VE GOT A GIG! Yep, a proper honest to goodness gig. I'm playing at HCGreen on Saturday 3rd February. I'm playing with Kid Mingus, Millicent and Noodlearm. Full details are at the bottom of the page. Your attendance is compulsary.

27.11.06 - I've got it together and I've re-encoded the Tsuji Giri remixes. You'll find them here. Now, not only are they smaller, but they're actually properly listenable...

18.10.06 - Ok, important things first. I've got another new track for you to download. Although, it's not actually that new. I wrote it last year between Christmas and New Year. So it's 10 months old. But it's a cracker. Quite different from some of the more recent stuff. It's a bit more 'analogue-y'. But while it's different, it's still class. Or at least I think so. And really, that's all I care about... So go and download it now.

Now for the second thing. Some cunty motherfucking dickmonkey spammers have been sticking the anexium.com on their 'make your cock bigger' emails as the sending address. If you've got one of these, then I didn't send it. Not a fucking chance.

And finally, sometime soon I'm going to re-encode the Tsuji Giri remixes I did. I gave them another listen and they're not very well encoded. So I'm going to re-do them. Oh and I think that might be fucked and glitchy too. And not in a good way.

30.08.06 - Ladies, gentlemens, others. Let me take this oppertunity to introduce you to a new anexium track. Well, ok it's not startling new, it's been around for the past 6 months. But in that time it's only been heard by one other person who wasn't me. So I present to you Igluel! It's a little bit different than some of the other stuff I've done, but I like it. If you don't then so what. I won't lose any sleep about it. In other news, I've re-done the Gierrofo site, so when while you're letting Igluel download, go take a looksee.

03.08.06 - Here's a little hand written review of the single I had out earlier this year on spunktronics. It's originally from here (Planet-Mu forum), and there's a couple of reviews of the other in the series. (Worth two quid of any cunts brass - genius!) You should go directly to spunktronics and buy the whoe Jizz004 series. You're only going to spend it on booze. And each cd is cheaper than a pint...

10.07.06 - Just a small little update. In celebration of me buying a digital camera (and also partly as a vanity exercise), you can take a looksee at my studio (popup). It's everything you imagined and less...

30.06.06 - Those of you that actually read this random nonsense may remember back in November of last year I told you about a track called 'Shacasmo'. And those of you paying attention will have noticed that it never appeared on myspace or on here. Until now! Yep, I've uploaded a copy of the <shock> - ambient - </shock> tune. So now you can here my dirty take on amient music. You'll find it in the music section.

18.06.06 - I've done it. I've finally done it. I've bought some more web space! So now there'll be some new tunes going up. All those that i've mentioned before but never got up will now go up. World Cup notwithstanding, obviously... The first tune is up now, look in the music section.

I've also re-homed the duckspunk site onto anexium.com. A quick warning - the duckspunk site isn't safe for work. Not even remotely...

11.05.06 - Ladies, gentlemen, others. I've got some troubling news. I have a job! Yes, you read that right, I've got a job. And have had since the 2nd of May. I'm working for the Manchester NHS Agency, on the IT Helpdesk. I'm an analyst. And as most of you know, I have certain motivational restrictions, so this job is brilliant for me. It's gotta be the easiest job ever. There's four of us doing the job of two. And they're gonna employ two more people!... And 'cos it's public sector the money's good too (specially for helpdesk work). Now if only I didn't have to wait until the end of the month to get paid...

16.03.06 - Those of you who know me know that I'm not overy political. I think this (new) labour government are a useless shower of bastards, and the 'opposition' are just as bad. However, this just strikes me as the worst thing I've heard in a long time. Essentially, it gives ministers (not parliament) the ability and right to create or amend the laws of the land (with certain limited provisions). This strikes me a very bad thing. More so when you realise that this law could be used to amend itself to remove the safeguards! More links here, here, here, here, and here. Read about this and tell your friends. I think it's gonna be an important one.

26.01.06 - First new news of the year. The most important bit of news is that there is now a duckspunk remix of this site! You can take a looksee here. There's no new content, it's just got a new look.

I've just finished a couple of new tracks (too add to all those waiting to be uploaded...), so hopefully I'll get my act together and upload some of the new stuff to the site. The last new track on here dates back from the summer, and the last track you've been able to download (via hippocamp) dates back from october time. So, new stuff soon. Thats (not) a promise. Somebody buy me some broadband, then new stuff'll go up sooner...

19.12.05 - Load of new news! Firstly, I've got a limited edition release on spunktronics. It's four tracks from here, but they're much better quality, come on an 8cm cd through the post and have some proper artwork with them. It's part of a 4 part series, with me and Con Brio being the first two parts. They're 2 quid each including post and packaging (can you say bargain, I think you can), and you can order them straight from the spunktronics site.

I've also got a new track on the hippocamp v2.0 re-launch compilation. It's a brand spanking new track, and for the time being, hippocamp is the only place you'll be able to get a copy.

Those links again - spunktronics and hippocamp

29.11.05 - I've now got meself a mailing list. Everyone else who I host uses it, so I thought that I should too. And why not? I did write the bloody thing... I've also added some more links and made a couple of little changes to layout and things. And 'cos I didn't/couldn't get 'Shacasmo' up I've now stuck 'Maewest' up at myspace instead, so you can stream it to strangers in internet cafés. Oh, and things aren't going so well with the funding of more space. I'm stupidly poor. But that's my own fault 'cos I keep going out to the pub and 'having it'. So, if you want some more tunes, either from me or my hostees, give me some cash. You'll be able to use it as positive karma, so then to maintain a balance you'll be able to go do something bad...

14.11.05 - Ok, the new tune at myspace hasn't worked out properly. Blame myspace, the tune uploaded and then it 'processed', but it never appeared on the myspace player. I'll get it sorted and stick it up somewhere else. I've got some space, just need to get the time to upload stuff onto it.

09.11.05 - Hey! New tune! But, 'cos there's no space left on anexium.com, I've had to stick it up on myspace. Yeah yeah, I know. But desperate times call for desperate measures. So go to myspace, and listen to the new track there.

It's called 'Shacasmo', and it's a <shock> - ambient - </shock> track. Meanwhile, I'll try and either fund some more space here, or try and get some for free on the 'internet'. Here's the myspace link again.

Oh, and there's a couple of new (working) links been added too.

03.11.05 - Added a couple of new links. New tracks coming up soon. Hopefully. And possibly I might be getting a couple tracks on a couple of compilations, but nothing properly sorted out yet.

28.10.05 - I've turned into a teenage girl and got meself a myspace account. Go take a looksee, and make me a friend. I promise to not come round your house and piss on/in things. Perhaps.

24.10.05 - Ok, so it's not really a new piece of news, but there will some new tracks going up soon, they're done but I've just gotta sort out some more space for the site. Including the hostees (all linked here), there's now roughly about 250mb-ish of mp3s. Which is a bit blimey...

18.08.05 - Another new track is up. This is a track that I wrote as a wedding present for Vicky and Kev Moss. There's another couple of tracks that'll be going up soon, I've just got to do a bit of finishing work on them. Not much, but enough that they can't go up just yet. There is no more news. That is all.

16.08.05 - I got a review of some of my tracks here on the ManchesterMusic site

23.07.05 - The new track I put up last week is now also available on a hippocamp collection to celebrate the marriage of erica and kams offa their messageboard.

13.07.05 - It's time for a new track. Except that this is an old track that I've had knocking around for about 9 months and had never got around to sequencing properly. Well, after an illness that you *really* don't want to know about gave me some time to sit around the house, I dug out the disk, stuck it on and realised that this was way too good to just leave sat on a disk unfinished. So I gave it a quick little sequence, bit of mixing and a slap of some other stuff and I got it finished and sounding kinda lush. It's only short - about 2m40s - it's a small download at 1.8mb, and totally against the spirit of the other small/short tracks it's not even in the remotest way dirty. Honestly, it's just lush, with no trace of smut or inyourendo.
In other news, on doctor's orders I've got to give up the drinking for 'a while'. So it seems I'll have to find a recreational drugs habit... Oh, and someone offer us a gig, I wanna play out again.

ps. I've just done a count and this new track is now the 20th (!) mp3 available on here. Blimey... Would've been more, but I deleted some to make room for the new ones.

24.06.05 - I've got a track on a compilation. Those nice chaps at ace Manchester based web label hippocamp have released their summer compilation, and I've got a track on it. The track in question is 'Interludle Final 02' (that's the dirty one), which you can find a version of on this here site. But you should go to hippocamp and download it from there, firstly 'cos they've got a better quality version of it, and secondly 'cos you'll get to hear in a musical context with loads of other cooel tracks. Go to hippocamp *now* and download every track on the compilation, you know you'll be so much happier when you do.

08.06.05 - Now then, I'm fresh back from a hodilay in Prague, which was fucking ace, and I'd heartily recommend for *everyone* to go there. Just keep away from wencesles square 'cos it's full of wankers (mainly dicks on stag do's and locals trying everything they can think of to fleece you from your money), and take a looksee around some of the 'sidestreets' 'cos there are some nice bars over there (and a lot of nice women too...). And in other news there's a brand spankee new track available in the music section (thanks to mark for the use of his broadbandable computational device in getting it uploaded).

11.04.05 - Right then, the gig's been done down in southampton. finally left manchester a couple of hours later than I thought we wew supposed to, but some brilliant navigation by me and Ivan got us to southampton in just over 4 and a half hours, which was a good hour and half quicker than I thought it'd take us... Did the gig, Yena Veldt were outstandingly good despite only being a member down (allegedly due to 'facial clmydia'), it's just a shame everyone fucked off before I played - bunch of twats. Got moaned at to 'turn it down' by the barman and managed to blow one of the amps powering the pa. Which kinda made up for nobody being there and being asked to 'turn it down'. Then we set off back after the gig. A van full of drunk blokes leads to shouting and generally foolery which leads to missing the turnoff, which leads to missing the next turnoff, which leads to ending up in fucking basingstoke, which leads to us getting back to manchester *seven* hours after leaving southampton. And after finding the some cunty overpriced coffee company is using the same fonts as my site in it's advertisements in the services, I've given the site a quick makeover. Same old content, with a bit of a new look. See, I understand marketing...
